The February 2023 issue of Arts E-News features a number of important announcements and schedule save the dates.
The Division announced Delaware’s 2023 Poetry Out Loud State Finalists from 12 local high schools. The State finals will be held on March 2 at 7:00pm at the Smyrna Opera House. For more information, click here.
The National Endowment of the Arts announced recently that two Delaware organizations were among organizations nationwide that received 2023 funding through their Grants for Arts Projects and Challenge America grant programs.
The Delaware Division of the Arts will close its annual online application process for grants for arts programming and projects taking place during fiscal year 2024 (September 2023 – August 2024) on Tuesday, March 1, 2023 at 4:30pm.
A Save The Date was issued for the 2023 Delaware State Employee Art Exhibition (the show opens on February 21 at the Delaware State University Art Center/Gallery).
Artists can apply to be featured on the Mezzanine Gallery schedule for the 2023/2024 season. To be considered for an exhibition, artists may submit a Mezzanine Gallery Application before the March 15, 2023 deadline. Click here to apply.
The Division is accepting applications to become an on-site evaluator. Evaluators generally attend and produce a written review of two or more programs each year, including performances, exhibits, workshops or classes, and more. Experience new art forms and see more of Delaware’s treasures while serving a vital role in the review of grant-funded programs. Click here to apply.

The Meet the Fellows section introduces the Master Fellows for our 2023 season: B. Proud (Master, Visual Arts: Photography), and TAHIRA (Master, Folk Arts: Oral Literature).
The Arts Spotlight section features Division grantees The Choir School of Delaware, the Biggs Museum of Art, and The Music School of Delaware.
