The Access Creative Aging initiative is designed to provide Delaware’s older population with opportunities for artistic expression, social interaction, and enhanced mental and physical health through meaningful engagement in the arts.

Below you’ll find recently announced classes at locations statewide.  Registration information will be found within the details and is handled at the library/senior center level (not with the Division of the Arts).  If a class is at capacity, we encourage you to ask about a waiting list.

 

Harrington Senior Center - Exploring Acrylic Art through Painting

Class: Exploring Acrylic Art through Painting

Teaching Artist: Joyce Lapp

Class Dates: Wednesdays from December 3, 2025 – February 4, 2026 from 1:15-3:15pm

Culminating Event: Thursday, February 12, 2025 at 1:00pm

This program will explore a diverse range of artistic themes and topics, including color theory, composition, and prospective and visual inspiration. Participants will develop essential skills through guided hands-on projects. Participants will gain confidence in their creative expressions while refining technical abilities. Interaction will be encouraged throughout the classes with discussion and questions. The program will also invite a strong sense of community engagement, encouraging participants to share their work and engage in discussions that promote cultural awareness and social connection.
