Siegel JCC
The ART (Anti-Racism) Theater Project
Wilmington
Project Support
The ART (Anti-Racism Theater) Project produces an original theater production every summer at the Siegel JCC in Wilmington, featuring the voices and stories of Delaware’s young women and non-binary youth. This free intensive activist theater project engages, inspires, and empowers a diverse group of teens to work together to write, create, direct, and perform a personal and truthful play addressing racial and gender justice issues. The ART Project transforms both the young people who gain confidence through performance as well as our audiences of community members, families, teachers, and local teens.
Now in its fourth year, the project has intensively served more than 25 young artists by providing social justice education, community building, leadership training, and comprehensive performing arts education. Our productions have reached hundreds of local community members and engaged them in interactive performances where they learn and practice strategies to address today’s most pressing issues. The program provides space for young people to use the power of theater to transform themselves and our communities.
The Siegel JCC is a non-profit community center where people come together to learn, share and celebrate. We inspire and connect people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds through social, educational, cultural, fitness and recreational opportunities in a warm and welcoming environment. The J represents a feeling of home for kids, families, teens, singles, seniors, and everyone in between. Our mission is to be the place where we build community, honor Jewish values, welcome diversity, and nurture wellbeing.

Delaware Shakespeare
Julius Caesar
Wilmington
General Operating Support
Fearing the tyrannical reign of Julius Caesar, a passionate group of senators – lead by Cassius and Brutus – debate, plot, and execute a momentous assassination. This bold interpretation of a classic, performed by a gender-expansive cast, explores the emotional and societal chaos preceding and following Caesar’s murder. Can there be a balance between violence and vengeance? Does blood need to be shed in the name of justice?
We envision a Delaware where people from all walks of life celebrate and explore their shared humanity through the lens of Shakespearean works. Inspired by Shakespeare’s creative vision and the broad societal mix of audiences of his era, Delaware Shakespeare brings our community together for vibrant theatre and learning experiences.
