RENT – August 19-28, 2022
Wilmington/West Chester
GOS

The Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning rock musical RENT follows a year in the lives of a group of artists and friends in 90s era New York City as they learn to love and live without regret.

New Light Theatre is dedicated to improving the human condition by partnering each production with thematically connected charitable causes, while also placing a special emphasis on providing opportunities for student and emerging theatre artists to work in a professional setting. New Light Theatre is committed to bringing light to the darkness of the world, to raising awareness and support for organizations that illuminate, and to deepening our empathy and connection with one another through meaningful artistic work. In accordance with this mission, RENT will partner with AIDS Delaware, a local organization that works to eliminate the spread and stigma of HIV/AIDS, improve the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS, and promote community health through comprehensive and culturally-sensitive services, education programs, and advocacy. Newark Arts Alliance - Spirituality Exhibit

Newark Arts Alliance
Spirituality Show
Newark
PS

An exhibit of artwork in all media reflecting spirituality in its many forms juried by artist, Jennifer Davies-Reazor. This show is open to everyone to submit work on July 22-23. The juror, Jenny Davies-Reazor is a full time artist and teacher living in Newark DE. She is a mixed media artist; working in ceramics, polymer, collage, and jewelry. Her work is unified in her themes of magic and myth, goddesses, and the natural world. Her work will also be featured in this show. The show will be on display from July 26-August 26, 2022. There is an artists reception planned for Friday, August 12, 6:00-8:00pm.

The Newark Arts Alliance provides the citizens of greater Newark with the opportunity to explore and display their creativity, as well as to participate in cultural events that build community. We do this by offering gallery space for exhibitions, an art gift shop, classes, regularly meeting art groups and special events. We are “inspiring creativity, innovation, and appreciation of the arts”.

The Newark Arts Alliance presents up to 11 exhibits a year which highlight the talents of over 350 artists each year. Often first time exhibitors have a chance to share their work in a encouraging environment. The mixed, open themed shows such as “Spirituality” will attract submissions from new artists and expose our audience to new works of creative expression. Our artist receptions are a popular event which brings the art loving community together for celebrating local creativity. Our solo and group shows highlight the work of select artists and give them a chance to exhibit a body of work at one time. Art buyers find both our open themed shows and solo/group shows a good opportunity to purchase art at reasonable prices.
