New Light Theatre
Once: The Musical
Wilmington
General Operating Support

Tony, Grammy and Academy Award winning, Once weaves a captivating musical spell as it follows an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant over the course of one life changing week. Bursting with joy and aching with heart, Once uplifts the power of reaching out with kindness, and the transformative ability for art to create connection and community. New Light Theatre’s Once features a cast of actor musicians who will begin with a live music preshow at 15 minutes prior to show time. Come early to enjoy the extra music!

New Light Theatre is committed to bringing light to the darkness of the world, to raising awareness and support for organizations that illuminate, and to deepening our empathy and connection with one another through meaningful artistic work. In accordance with this mission, Once will partner with RISE, a program of Jewish Family Services. As the oldest refugee resettlement agency in the state of Delaware, RISE at JFS has resettled and reunited families, provided critical case management and counseling services, and engaged community leaders in the refugee experience through education, volunteerism, and advocacy. Through intensive, culturally sensitive case management, RISE helps refugees and other immigrants integrate and make a home in their new communities, obtain and retain employment, and establish and maintain healthy lifestyles to achieve self-sufficiency.

New Light Theatre is dedicated to improving the human condition by partnering each production with thematically connected charitable causes, while also placing a special emphasis on providing opportunities for student and emerging theatre artists to work in a professional setting. New Light Theatre is committed to bringing light to the darkness of the world, to raising awareness and support for organizations that illuminate, and to deepening our empathy and connection with one another through meaningful artistic work.
