Arts Accessibility

The Delaware Division of the Arts, in partnership with Art Works for All Delaware, work to ensure that meaningful arts experiences are available to all Delawareans. The Division requires all grantees to execute projects, productions, workshops and programs in accordance with the requirements of:

• Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
• Age Discrimination Act of 1975
• Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
• The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; where applicable.

Funding

Organizations that receive funding from the Division must be accessible and inclusive of all. Grant recipients are expected to have an accessibility evaluation of their organization in their files for their records and can utilize either NEA form:

• Section 504 Self Evaluation Workbook
• Brief Accessibility Checklist

Capital renovations or modifications that address accessibility deficiencies may be eligible for Arts Stabilization funding through a panel review process that identifies such projects as higher priority.
